You open the page
Nothing is running yet. No camera is on, no microphone is listening, and nobody has been told you are here.
- Stage 2
You sign in
A session needs an account behind each side — that is what makes reporting and blocking mean anything. Signing up is short, and it happens before any camera is involved.
- Stage 3
The browser asks for permission
The camera and microphone prompt comes from your browser, not from us — which is why it looks the same as on any other site and why you can revoke it there at any time.
- Stage 4
You see yourself first
A self-preview shows what the other person will see. This is the moment to check the framing and the light behind you, before anyone else is involved.
- Stage 5
The session opens with one person
Two panes: you, and the person you were matched with. There is no third participant and no audience, which is what makes this a video chat rather than a broadcast.
- Stage 6
You keep the controls
Mute and camera toggles stay on screen for the whole session. Turning either off does not end the conversation.
- Stage 7
You end it, or you go next
Leaving is a single action. Next closes this session and opens another one with someone else; the person you left cannot follow you.
